THE DESIGNER
Juan Delgado Martinez. Juan was born in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic to humble hard working parents and is the youngest of five children. He arrived in Westchester, New York at a very young age where his fascination for art, beauty and curiosity to learn about other cultures, was piqued by the melting pot that is New York. At a very young age he always believed “the sky’s the limit” and the American Dream was among the stars. Embarking on the journey of opening his own brand was enlightening because design was an outlet to express feelings with no words and a beautiful way to tell his story as well as society’s untold stories. With a love of art and an eye that found beauty in the everyday, Juan was a daydreamer; an outgoing person that enjoys bringing people together. Fashion served as an outlet that provided the opportunity for self expression and the ability to lead with a smile.
Delgado New York is Juan Delgado personified. It aims to serve as a beacon of inspiration, individuality, and to transcend ever evolving trends while keeping creativity at the forefront.

Delgado New York was established by Dominican–American Juan Delgado Martinez through the coaching of fashion business expert Barbra Sessim which helped Juan bring his vision to reality by creating his brand which went further then just articles of clothing, making pieces that transcend the boundaries of sex,age and body type making sure inclusivity is at the forefront with an effortless approach while making everyone feel exclusive. The journey started with choosing a debut collection that spoke to his heart personally and showcased his upbringing and his culture. The collection chosen titled Brewed Elegance stems from my mothers kitchen and her love of coffee, a collection that could truly speak to the world. The coffee experience was an experience I shared with my mom and connected us through research. I found out coffee is a ritual that connects the whole world no matter the walk of life. An ancient ritual that still connects society.

A bold decision to follow his dream became life changing dropping self and applying to the world known and stylist favorite luxury boutique FlyingSolo with locations in Soho and Paris which only a hand selected few get chosen through a board of fashion experts only a limited amounts of brands with unique visions make it on the floor , the pressure was high but the belief in my vision was higher. Not sure if I was ready to embark on this journey but followed the inner instinct and unshakeable drive to achieve my dreams.

Juan showcased his freshman collection Brewed Elegance to a sold out venue through the help of many amazing individuals Barbara Sessim my fashion coach that helped bring the vision to life , Colleen Cusman from Clink With Colleen which believed in the 2 vision and helped making it a reality , Michelle from Jäegermeister which was touched by the connection between the coffee inspired collection and the ties to family and culture and the liquor company Jäegermeister was a match made in Coffee heaven through Michelle the event was sponsored by Jäegermeister, the amazing team at Hudco Christina and Christy which fell in love with the event idea for there beautiful space located in DobbsFerry New York , the amazing local artisan Melissa from Adzineny and Mary from Marti Mucci which collaborated with me to create and unforgettable experience. The event for Colleen from Clink with Colleen and Juan from Delgado New York was a blend of culture,art, music and crafted artisan cocktails connecting different
people through all their senses inviting local businesses to participate.
Delgado New York wanted more then just pretty clothes down a runway Juan wanted his fashion to have purpose joining forces with the organization Feeding Westchester, a true showcase how fashion can impact society and attack social issues.

Nothing is ever easy Juan couldn’t make his deadline for FlyingSolo devastated and crushed. Everything that could have gone wrong went wrong days of tears followed his first attempt at production didn’t go as I expected with thousands of dollars lost fraudulent contracts but as his mother always told him ‘as long as there’s life there is always a chance for redemption pick yourself up and rise” he decided not to give up so easily managed to find his inner strength and the bravery to contact FlyingSolo and told them he was not ready for his august debut shocked for the unforgiving Fashion industry to have as well a heart of gold FlyingSolo understood and gave Juan the chance to debut September and forever grateful for that blessing. Found amazing independent artisans in New York that made my vision come true later that Month the collection was ready to be dropped off in Soho .

Was a day of celebration. It was the welcome party for all the international designers to meet and greet and showcase their amazing works . It was an evening of meeting an array of talented designers and artists from around the world. Truly found a place where his heart felt complete .

Talk about a dream come true taking risk does pay off following that editorial the stylistpull kept coming in helping Delgado New York has a new brand to watch Delgado New York was featured in Weekly Style Magazine- October 2023 Alongside the most prominent and prestigious fashion houses my Santiago dress from his Brewed Elegance collection was surrounded by the likes of Burberry, Zimmerman,Gucci,RABANNE,AlBERTO BIANI and many more Beyond my his wildest dreams to have his creation alongside brands he has always admired but to also be part of the Mocaccino trend which never goes out of style in the fall/winter season

Fashion ArtWorld by Maksim Golguber contacted Delgado New York with andopportunity that truly shows that hard work pays off the team at Fashion Art World fell in love with Juan’s unique approach and Vision and invited him to participate in their NYFW Production and showcase his collection Brewded Elegance. Dreams do come true ! Juan went back to the drawing table and started expanding the portfolio of brewed elegance by adding new show stopping looks to the collection to prepare to showcase his talents on a world stage which is NYFW.

Juan sets out to build a great team for NYFW contacting the talented Lina Enriquez from Lina Enriquez with her hand crafted amulets made by Colombian artisans , as well as the talented Melissa Riebe from ADZINENY with her one of kind handmade master pieces provided the jewelry for the fashion show. These two women inspired me with their amazing work. showcasing the art Latin Americans have to offer to the world of fashion became my mission for NYFW.

Delgado New York debuts on the world fashion stage at NYFW after a casting of over 300 models Juan and the amazing team of creatives that worked on this show chose there final 20 models for the 20 looks that were gonna be showcased the models chosen were an array of different colors different backgrounds and shapes which is always a Delgado New York staple the show was a great success.
